Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be wagered on in casinos all over the world, or in your house on your home computer, through a web connection. The regulations are very simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to come away with money. In this respect it is much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the line of contact with any other players. The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the video screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are dealt if desired. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.

Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable players are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game each and every time.

Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that has been won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences among specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other varying elements to enhance playability.
